Election protection volunteers needed

The election is just seven days away and we'd like you to consider volunteering as a voter protection observer in the King County Ballot Processing Center between now and Election Day or helping us identify others who want to volunteer.

Voter protection observers represent the entire Democratic Party and play an important role in our democratic process. Their role is to observe county officers as they process ballots and prepare them to be counted. For example, observers will monitor the signature verification process, the opening of ballots and the counting preparation procedures.

This is a job we take very seriously and we know this is a job that the Republican Party takes very seriously. The Republicans have been actively recruiting observers across the state.

We are asking that observers agree to a minimum of at least one four hour shift between now and November 7th. In addition, in King County you will also have to attend a short training this Saturday morning at 10am.

We hope you will consider taking on this important responsibility. If you are interested please contact Casey at caseyb@wa-democrats.org or (206) 452-1943.

Sincerely,

Tracy Newman
