Incumbent Kshama Sawant trails in early results for Seattle City Council seat

The race is on for seven district-specific Seattle City Council seats, and an overhaul is underway as four city council members did not seek re-election.

One of the most-watched races this year is the one for District 3, where incumbent Kshama Sawant is trailing in early results to challenger Egan Orion.

District 1: West Seattle

Incumbent Lisa Herbold, who is serving her first term, is running against public defender Phil Tavel.

Early results show Herbold is leading the race with 51%, but Tavel is trailing close with 49% of the votes.
