Standing-room only tickets will go on sale day of MLS Cup

In one final bid to potentially set a CenturyLink Field attendance record, the Seattle Sounders were given last-minute approval to sell a couple hundred standing-room only tickets for Sunday’s MLS Cup.

Prices and exact locations of the tickets were not made available, but a Sounders spokesperson said they would likely have obstructed views. When the Seattle Seahawks have sold SRO tickets, they’ve usually been in the walkways of the 300-section as well as the walkways between the 100 and 200 levels.

The tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. and are only available to purchase in person from the CenturyLink box office in the northwest corner of the stadium.

With tickets sold out for more than a week, this was already going to be the most attended soccer match in the State of Washington’s history and the second largest crowd to ever attend a MLS Cup. The SRO tickets could allow it to become the largest crowd to watch a sporting event at CenturyLink Field, which currently stands at 69,067 for a Seahawks-Kansas City Chiefs game in 2018.
