Teacher arrested after threatening to shoot students, Pierce Co. sheriff says
PUYALLUP, Wash. - A female teacher is under arrest after allegedly threatening to shoot students at Emerald Ridge High School in Puyallup, the Pierce County sheriff's officials said.
The 58-year-old teacher reportedly made the threats Tuesday and was immediately placed on administrative leave after Puyallup School District officials learned of them.
On Wednesday morning, she was contacted by deputies and "didn't back off of the threat," said Pierce County Sheriff's Office spokesman Ed Troyer. She was then taken into custody and booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of multiple charges. No weapons were recovered during her arrest.
The teacher's name and other information were not immediately released. Troyer said it's not clear exactly what led up to the threats.
