Injunction filed to stop $30 car tab fees, for now

SEATTLE--There are new developments in the battle over transportation dollars and car tab fees.

Late this afternoon, The city of Seattle, King County, and several transit agencies took a second legal action in their attempt to stop the car tab initiative from taking effect.

The coalition of cities, counties and transit agencies filed an injunction to stop Initiative 976 from going to effect saying “the initiative is unconstitutional and its implementation would cause immediate, devastating, and irreparable impacts statewide.”

Attorneys said they filed the injunction in order to halt the $30 car tabs until a judge can rule on the first lawsuit they’ve already filed.

Keep that in mind. The PR behind this proposition was very dishonest about that.
