U.S.-Canada border crossings closed at Sumas, Lynden due to flooding

SUMAS, Wash. - Flooded roads are cutting off the U.S.-Canada border crossings at Sumas and Lynden and closed down a nearby school district.

Several barricades and signs block water-covered roads in Whatcom County near the border crossings, including State Route 9.

The Blaine border crossing on Interstate 5 remains open, but border crossings are closed at Sumas and Lynden.

In addition, there are barricades up at Nooksack High School - blocking drivers from going farther north.
