Authorities bust cockfighting ring; humanely euthanized several birds
GRANT COUNTY, Wash. -- Law enforcement officers from several agencies busted an illegal cockfighting ring on Thursday between Quincy and Ephrata.
The Grant County Sheriff's Office said the raid also lead to several illegal drugs being recovered.
Detectives from Grant County’s Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET), sheriff's animal control deputies, agents from Washington’s Gambling Commission and officers from Quincy Police served the search warrant around 8:30 a.m. at 9410 Road J.4-Northwest in Winchester.
The search stemmed from a yearlong investigation into an illegal gambling operation featuring cockfighting.
