Most King County in-person services closing Monday due to COVID-19 outbreak
After a week of turbulence due to COVID-19 that ended with schools closed across Washington and gatherings of 250 people or more prohibited -- and all other gatherings strongly discouraged -- regular government services are shutting down as well.
Starting Monday, a slew of in-person services in King County will be closed. The services involve licensing for vehicles and vessels, treasury operations, in-person applications at the county as well as departments such as the King County Assessor's and Recorder's offices and other court operations.
As listed in its website, the full list of suspended, closed or affected services include:
King County Superior Court: Jury trials will be suspended from March 16 until at least April 24.
King County Local Services: In-person field office hours are canceled until further notice.
The Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention: Visitation hours canceled until further notice. Video visits available at no cost.
