It may be offering buyouts, but Boeing still secured orders in February

Boeing won orders for 13 Dreamliners and a 767 cargo jet in February, but lost 41 orders for its once popular — and still grounded — 737 Max.

In its monthly update on aircraft orders and deliveries, Boeing revealed it won deals for 13 Dreamliners, including three from Los Angeles-based Air Lease Corp., a major aircraft lessor, and 10 more from unidentified airline customers. Logistics and cargo carrier FedEx also ordered another 767 Freighter, according to Boeing which didn't record any orders in January. Rival jet maker Airbus didn't secure any orders in February.

The 787 Dreamliners and 767s jets are made at Boeing's Everett complex, so the deals are good news for aerospace workers in the region.

However, the cheer was diminished somewhat by Brazil's LATAM Airlines, which canceled an order for a Boeing 777 Freighter.
