First grocery store worker in Puget Sound dies from COVID-19
Nationwide, COVID-19 has taken the life of 30 grocery store employees, including a 70-year old Safeway worker in Seattle.
At least 3,000 employees nationwide are quarantined, hospitalized or waiting for test results for the virus according to UFCW—the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union.
In Puget Sound, UFCW21 represents 25,000 grocery store workers—including employees at QFC/Fred Meyer and Safeway/Albertsons, according to union spokesman Tom Geiger.
Geiger said grocery store workers are on the front lines of the COVID pandemic and they see hundreds of customers every day.

Nobody working there had masks or gloves on. There was no social distancing. I worry for the workers there and I certainly don't feel safe going in there again as most customers did not wear a mask and I was the only one wearing both a mask and gloves. I do it mainly to protect the grocery workers, but it seems they are completely exposed.
