With high tides and strong winds they are advising Delta BC to be on alert for flooding. Talking about wind gusts to 55 mph.

The wind this morning has been crazy. Not hurricane levels, mind you, but more wind than we normally see. A windy day isn't out of the ordinary, but this morning the wind was raging. The local pop radio station I listened to said it was as high as 50 mph in some spots. I wouldn't be surprised to learn my neighborhood was in one of those 50mph spots. I drive a fairly heavy and low-riding car (not customized, just the nature of the car), and I could feel it being blown about this morning. I also heard that the wind advisory was in effect until 5 or 6 this evening.

It was howling on and off earlier but it's quiet now.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
