A stay-at-home 'rally' to support Inslee's 'Stay Home, Stay Healthy' order
Washington is a state known for its vocal rallies and street protests. But Sunday, the Evergreen State will witness a unique event -- a rally in which participants do not leave their homes or apartments, and generate no noise.
It's a demonstration of support for the "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order by Gov. Jay Inslee. An estimated 2,500 protesters showed up at the State Capitol last Sunday, with several Republican legislators joining those violating the rule to stay six feet apart.
On Sunday, from noon to 3 p.m., the other side will make itself felt -- if not heard -- while staying home.
"Instead of marching on the capitol, let's show our support for SCIENCE and the Stay Home-Stay Safe order by posting photos of ourselves staying home," says an instruction from the organizers. Of course, a message can be attached to photographs, and Facebook can be used to celebrate policy rather than self.
