Costco shoppers, you gotta wear masks starting Monday

LYNNWOOD — Starting Monday, you’ll need more than your membership card to get past the door guards at Costco.

If you’re not wearing a mask, you’re not getting inside.

Costco is the first grocery giant to require shoppers to wear facial coverings at all stores nationwide.

Employees also must wear masks.

A sign in front of the Lynnwood store alerted customers of the upcoming rule. Those under age 2 or who can’t wear a mask due to medical conditions can go barefaced.

I thought it had already started. Explains why when I was there the other day not all people were wearing masks. Most were.

1. Glad they are doing this

Most already do wear masks and certainly all of the employees wear them. Costco has done a great job and their checkers should not be made ill by thoughtless customers.

2. This should be required everywhere

Sadly, it is not.

None of the grocery stores near me are requiring masks for shoppers, although employees must wear them. So I can’t even boycott the ones who don’t require them.

3. Costco need to buy more than employee masks, and give/sell them at the door.
