Seattle to close down 11 more miles of streets to cars
Seattle is closing down 11 more miles of streets to traffic in the coming days to give people more space to socially distance when walking or exercising outside.
The addition of 11 miles of "Stay Healthy" streets builds on the city's previous announcements, creating a total of 20 miles of streets that will be closed to traffic and open for people to walk, bike and exercise.
The streets included are in the Lake City, Aurora Licton Springs, Ballard and Delridge/Highland Park neighborhoods. Lake City streets will be closed Friday, and the rest of the neighborhoods will be closed to cars early next week, according to the city. Maps of the streets included can be found here.
The city had previously closed down streets in the Central District, West Seattle and High Point, Green Lake, Greenwood, Othello and Rainier Beach.
