Gov. Jay Inslee must ease his "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" order so that people can freely circulate and more businesses can reopen, according to U.S. House Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-Wash.
Newhouse who lives in and represents the county with the highest cases per 100,000 of the novel coronavirus on the West Coast, according to the Associated Press.
As of Sunday, Yakima County had a rate of 519.8 cases per 100,000, according to a SeattlePI analysis of data from the Washington State Department of Health and the U.S. Census Bureau. Franklin County, which is also in New House's Central Washington district and had county leaders raising loud voices in opposition to the shutdown, ranked second with 400.4 per 100,000.
Yakima County has seen 1,296 cases of the coronavirus, and felt 47 deaths.

(17,613 posts)..Inslee is actually from that area so hes knows newhouse is a stooge. Thats one county over from where i live and its where hubby has to drive to work. A lot of the numbers are from the meat packing in Toppenish Im sure..
My Uncle is in a short term facility there and Im actually quite impressed. They nasal test the pts once week..no visitors but one aid..bless her heart ( No, REALLY Bless her heart!) she lets us talk to my uncle with her cell phone and she wipes it down before and afterwards.
Inslees plan is VERY good.

(26,044 posts)Inslee was the only Democrat elected to that seat in the past forty years, and he only lasted one term. (He later returned to Congress from a different district after living in the Seattle area for many years.) Definitely farm and pickup truck central.

The Mexicans I spoke to seemed pretty nice. Though I did see iron bars on some business. I guess you have your good and bad element in every group.
