Seattle ranked as No. 1 top city for video gaming in U.S.

Seattle is the No. 1 best overall city for video gamers in the U.S., according to a newly released analysis.

The report, by personal finance site WalletHub, compared the 100 largest cities across 20 key indicators of gamer-friendliness, from average internet speed to video-game stores per capita.

Seattle had the highest overall score, and also ranked No. 1 for most video-game job openings per capita.

The top ranking for Seattle comes as the coronavirus pandemic forces more people to stay inside this year, boosting the popularity of gaming. As a result, the gaming industry is projected to bring in a staggering $159 billion globally this year.
