COVID-19: Pierce County to request move to modified phase 2

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Gov. Jay Inslee's administration has temporarily paused requests by counties to advance to phase 4 amid rising numbers of confirmed coronavirus cases, but Pierce County health officials are preparing to ask state regulators if they can move to a modified phase 2.

If the county's request is approved, Pierce County would be able to host larger social gatherings.

Officials in Pierce, along with King, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties, all say they are not ready to move forward to phase 3. That has prompted Pierce County to consider applying for the modified phase that will permit outdoor gatherings to grow from five people to 25. Indoor gatherings, however, would remain capped at five people.

Pierce County health officials reported 21 new COVID-19 cases Monday following a spike of 55 confirmed cases on Saturday.

No, no, no, no, no...etc.

People who come in from other areas that are having exploding infection rates can be potential, exponential vectors and quickly start spikes.

What is wrong with people? The false narrative of our health and mortality vs. the economy is wrong and exacerbates this ongoing debacle.
