New grants aim to retrain aerospace workers

Local aerospace companies affected by the COVID-19 pandemic can take advantage of a new Snohomish County program to help retrain aerospace workers.

The Aerospace Employment Recovery & Training program offers grants of up to $250,000 per business for short-term training to help workers acquire new skills.

Training can be used for existing employees, recalled employees or new hires.

For-profit companies located in Snohomish County that have been in business for at least a year, may be eligible. Aerospace-related work must comprise at least 50% of a firm’s operations.
