Seattle Seahawks' Wilson, Lockett among players to voice concern about NFL's coronavirus plan

Several prominent Seattle Seahawks on Sunday joined a coordinated effort by NFL players to voice concern about the league’s health and safety protocol for playing football amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Quarterback Russell Wilson, defensive end Bruce Irvin, left tackle Duane Brown and star receivers Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf were among those to let their feelings be heard. Training camp for the Seahawks, like most teams, is scheduled to begin July 28.

Negotiations between the NFL and Players’ Association (NFLPA) were scheduled to continue Sunday, according to multiple national reports.

“I am concerned,” Wilson tweeted. “My wife is pregnant. NFL training camp is about to start .. and there’s still no clear plan on player health and family safety. We want to play football but we also want to protect our loves.”

Yep, this IS a coordinated effort by the NFL players throughout the league. Many of the star players (Drew Brees, Patrick Mahomes, JJ Watt, Michael Thomas, etc.) are in on it.

They need to listen to the players. They can try to start back up next season.

I assume the players, coaches, and administrators are all eligible for state unemployment benefits.
