Several prominent Seattle Seahawks on Sunday joined a coordinated effort by NFL players to voice concern about the leagues health and safety protocol for playing football amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Quarterback Russell Wilson, defensive end Bruce Irvin, left tackle Duane Brown and star receivers Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf were among those to let their feelings be heard. Training camp for the Seahawks, like most teams, is scheduled to begin July 28.
Negotiations between the NFL and Players Association (NFLPA) were scheduled to continue Sunday, according to multiple national reports.
I am concerned, Wilson tweeted. My wife is pregnant. NFL training camp is about to start .. and theres still no clear plan on player health and family safety. We want to play football but we also want to protect our loves.
