Washington State, Seattle University to teach most classes online this fall

Two universities in Washington state announced their plans to reopen in the fall on Thursday with a majority of courses being offered online amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Washington State University in Pullman announced that it will offer full remote classes for the fall semester.

"Our fall 2020 semester at WSU Pullman will not be what we hoped, wanted, or planned," wrote WSU President Kirk Schulz and other senior administration members in a letter to the campus community. "We understand the myriad of emotions that this decision will cause … sadness, frustration, disappointment, anger, and for others, a sense of relief."

Other WSU campuses in Vancouver, Everett, Tri-Cities and Spokane are expected to release reopening plans shortly which may slightly differ with extremely limited options for in-person instruction.
