As demolition looms, famous Elephant Car Wash sign may be headed to MOHAI

Seattle's famous pink Elephant Car Wash sign doesn't appear long for this world, at least not in its long-time location on Denny Way.

The sign purportedly is one of the most photographed landmarks in the city. It has appeared in movies, music video and attracted patrons ranging from the Secret Service to Elvis Presley, according to a Seattle magazine report.

The Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce reported that Clise Properties, the owner of the land where the car wash has operated for 64 years, applied to the city for a permit to demolish the building.

It's possible that the neon sign may be moved to the Museum of History and Industry. A MOHAI spokesperson said museum officials have been in conversation with the owners of the car wash.

The Republicon party may end up so damaged that conservatives scrap the elephant and come up with a whole new party and symbol.

But the lapse of critical thinking has to be fixed first or the next and the next won't last either.
