Seattle movie theaters set to open Friday - here's what will be different
Whether you've been itching to see Christopher Nolan's "Tenet" or just to get out of the house, you'll be happy to hear that many movie theaters in the Seattle area are reopening Friday under new eased restrictions.
After seven months of blank screens, the theaters are finally allowed to reopen for indoor showings at 25% capacity in Phase 2 counties and 50% in Phase 3 counties.
"As we've figured out a way to open up theaters in 85% of the state, let's do it safely," Gov. Jay Inslee said when announcing the loosened restrictions. "We're taking a very targeted approach based on science, based on the business needs and listening to the community."
But just like nearly everything else in 2020, your first movie back in the plushy theater chairs won't be the same as it was before the COVID-19 pandemic. Here's what you need to know before you head to the theater.
