Report: Boeing Commercial Airplanes explores sale of Renton Longacres headquarters

Boeing is studying whether to sell the headquarters complex of Boeing Commercial Airplanes in Renton as part of efforts to liquidate real estate assets across the U.S. and raise cash to pay off company debts, Bloomberg News reports.

The study is part of a companywide review of all of Boeing’s real estate holdings, even its Chicago headquarters, Boeing Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Greg Smith told the financial news service.

“We’re evaluating all real estate across the globe,” Smith told Bloomberg. “But no decisions have been made other than what we’ve announced.”

A sale by Boeing of its Longacres office complex would include an adjacent building, which the jet maker formerly used for training airline pilot crews.
