Stevens Pass sees first heavy dose of snow

This is the first heavy dose of snow and rain this season in our mountain passes.

Stevens Pass already saw several inches of October snow fall Friday.

People across Western Washington wondering what this early snow might mean for the rest of the season.

If you're heading up over Steven’s Pass, be very careful.

Throughout the day, there were chain requirements Friday for Stevens Pass.

There were at least dozen incidents on Highway 2 along the pass, according to Washington State Patrol. They included crashes and vehicles blocking the road because people didn’t abide by chain restrictions.

I'm showing my age, but I remember WSP road blocks, if you did not have chains, you were not allowed to continue.
( you know you are old when driving in snow ceases to be fun)
