Russell Wilson, Ciara join insurance venture catering to minority-owned businesses
Insurance broker Acrisure is getting a Seattle superstar boost from Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his Grammy-winning wife, Ciara. The Michigan-based company is launching a venture called Evolution Advisors that targets minority-owned businesses, with Ciara and Wilson as founding partners and equity owners.
"We believe in the power of ownership and our hope is that through this partnership, we can help create a path for diverse communities to build up their own businesses and infrastructure," Wilson and Ciara said in a statement.
Evolution Advisors will focus on connecting minority-owned businesses with insurance products. According to Acrisure, there are over 4 million minority-owned companies in the U.S., accounting for total annual sales of almost $700 billion.
The new venture adds to a growing list of business and philanthropic efforts from Wilson and Ciara. The couple supported the #allinseattle effort to raise money for Covid-19 pandemic relief, and they have a nonprofit called the Why Not You Foundation dedicated to education, children's health and fighting poverty. Wilson launched a business coaching consultancy in 2019 called Limitless Minds.
