January ended with only about 1,950 single-family homes available for sale in Seattle's four-county metro, a decrease of 45% compared to the same month a year ago.
Yet demand, fueled by low-interest rates, did not diminish with closed sales up by double digits.
It's no wonder median sales prices were up 15% in King to $725,000; 17.5% to nearly $600,000 in Snohomish County; 16% to $440,000 in Pierce; and almost 12% to $425,000 in Kitsap.
On the Eastside, the median sales price reached nearly $1.15 million, an increase of almost 29%.

(22,758 posts)but the real estate market is crazy in a lot of places... Vermont as well... very few houses, prices way up and if you want to buy have to be ready to move quick... realtor wouldn't even talk to me w/o pre-approval... got the preapproval but now we are just going to give up on the idea of moving for a few years
