Boeing supplier XPO Logistics cuts 104 jobs in Everett after reporting record revenue
XPO Logistics Supply Chain Inc., a Boeing transportation and logistics services provider and past winner of the jet maker's supplier performance awards, is cutting 104 workers from its Everett facility in April despite announcing record quarterly revenue 10 days ago.
XPO Logistics told the Washington State Employment Security about its layoff plans, saying its job cuts are permanent and will be made starting April 21.

The job cuts come after XPO Logistics Chairman and CEO Brad Jacobs said on Feb. 12 that the Greenwich, Conn.-based company had generated record fourth-quarter revenue, and its strong profits and free cash flow "were all much better than expected."

Boeing has announced it will stop 787 Dreamliner production in Everett in March, shifting those manufacturing activities entirely to South Carolina, but it was unclear if the layoffs and production shift were linked.
