City opens up available coronavirus vaccine appointments to all Seattle residents 65 and older

After announcing that older West and South Seattle residents could book available coronavirus vaccine appointments, the city opened it up to any Seattle resident 65 years or older.

On Monday morning, the mayor's office tweeted that several hundred vaccine appointments from March 8-13 at the Rainier Beach and West Seattle community vaccination hubs were available for at-risk Seattle residents in the respective regions.

South and West Seattle have had some of the lowest vaccination rates in the city, especially for those over 65. Monday night, the city sent out a news release that adjusted the location restrictions for registration.

The news release said the city was focusing its efforts on West, South and Central Seattle, especially those over 65 who could be left behind as the state progresses through its vaccine phases.
