An Asian man was wounded in a shooting early Friday inside a Seattle-area spa, police said, leaving him with injuries that aren’t believed to be life threatening.

The incident appeared to be a robbery attempt, police said, and not connected to a mass shooting in this week that left eight people, including six Asian women, dead at three Atlanta-area spas.

“We want to be clear that everything we are seeing indicates this was a robbery attempt and unrelated to the events in Atlanta,” Sgt. Tim Meyer, a spokesman for the King County Sheriff’s Office, told The Washington Post.
