'Good chance were looking at the beginning of a fourth wave,' King County health official says

Now is not the time to let up.

That's the message from a King County health official, who warned Friday about increasing cases and hospitalizations in the county, coupled with the spread of variants of concern and continued limited vaccine supply.

"Last week's forecast was mostly sunny with storm clouds on the horizon. This week, it's raining and it looks like there may be some unseasonably rough weather ahead," said Dr. Jeff Duchin of Public Health — Seattle & King County during a news briefing Friday. "I think there's a good chance were looking at the beginning of a fourth wave."

It's not yet clear how big that wave will be, Duchin said, or what exactly it will look like.
