An Airway Heights police officer — honored as a leader combating domestic violence — is accused of abusing numerous women

Curtis Tucker, in his full police uniform, rises from his seat when his name is called. At a celebratory breakfast in 2013, the YWCA presents Tucker, an Airway Heights police officer, with a certificate of appreciation thanking him for how he responded to a domestic violence call.

It's officers like him, a presenter says, who improve the lives of domestic violence survivors.

As the room applauds her husband, Heidi Starr watches in disbelief. Surrounded by police officers dedicated to arresting abusers and advocates devoted to helping abused women, Starr wants them to know the truth. She wants to tell them the man they're praising has been abusing her for three years. She wants to report that Tucker has hit her, choked her, raped her and held a loaded gun to her head.

But speaking up, she tells the Inlander today, didn't feel like an option.

"Who was going to believe me?" Starr says.

"he could do whatever he wanted."

I was told those exact words on MY wedding night just like her. The very next day I started planning my escape.

I wonder how many other people have heard those exact words from their abusers?

is not one of the rights and privileges conferred with a marriage license. I'm glad that you found the escape hatch.

We got married Thanksgiving and I had a new pad, job, utilities, movers and cash I stashed away from a part time gig that he knew NoThing about by Veteran's Day.

Only things I wished I could have taken but couldn't were my fish and aquarium. I had a mated pair of African Jewel Cichlids.

They made lots of beautiful babies in a 20 gallon long tank that I used to sell or traded for stuff at the pet store. I loved them like children and they were spectacularly colorful beauties. They turn bright red when mating.

Seems like forever ago. I'm glad I made it out without committing murder.

Ps: Thanks for being a friend, TT.

Meanwhile, it is apparent that your cichlids were blushing because you caught them doing the naughty on camera! Didn't they read the sign that told them to get a room?

No, Asshole. You might be able to claim racism if ONE of your white ex-wives divorces you and claims abuse, but it's another thing when both your ex-wives and other women you've dated describe the exact same sexual abuse. This Black man has been 100% inculcated by the ACAB system, obviously preferring his Stockholm Syndrome-like identity as a cop over confronting his own struggles with power and abuse (and, it sounds like, drinking).
