Mask policies at Seattle businesses are all over the map

Even if you're vaccinated, it might be prudent to bring a mask when going out in Seattle.

As mask requirements are eased in most settings in Washington state, it’s up to the businesses to determine if customers will have to wear them. And businesses’ practices are all over the map.

“We will be wearing masks, but enforcing it to guests is going to be a tricky one,” said Sunny Joseph, general manager of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel downtown. The Olympic recently opened a new bar in the lobby of the hotel.

While Joseph applauded the governor’s choice to reopen the state at the end of June, he said the move to allow vaccinated folks the option to not wear a mask surprised him.
