King County restaurants, businesses prepare for proof of vaccination requirement
In just a few weeks, many businesses in King County will be required to ask customers for proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result.
A lot of restaurants in Seattle already ask customers to show their vaccination card before entering, but when I did research for my story Wednesday, I could only find two restaurants on the eastside of Seattle that currently have a policy that customers give proof theyre vaccinated (Cafe Juanita in Kirkland and the Lounge at DeLille Cellars in Woodinville). That means for many businesses, this new requirement will be a big change come Oct. 25.
"Were 100 percent on board with checking vaccinations, were just concerned about logistics of the situation for us as a restaurant," said Paul Ross, who is the owner of the Waffler restaurant in Bellevue.
While Ross is supportive of King Countys upcoming vaccination rule, he's still trying to figure out how to execute it, saying his business is already a little short-staffed.
