Kitsap County's COVID-19 new cases flat; Washington cases fall 8.9%
Washington state reported 11,641 new cases of coronavirus in the week ending Sunday, down 8.9% from the previous week. Then, 12,779 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19 were reported.
Washington state ranked 31st among the states where coronavirus was spreading the fastest on a per-person basis, a USA TODAY Network analysis of Johns Hopkins University data shows. In the latest week coronavirus cases in the United States increased 15.5% from the week before, with 646,627 cases reported. With 2.29% of the country's population, Washington state had 1.8% of the country's cases in the last week. Across the country, 39 states had more cases in the latest week than they did in the week before.
Kitsap County reported 310 cases and four deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 314 cases and three deaths. Throughout the pandemic it has reported 17,832 cases and 244 deaths.
Mason County reported 130 cases and six deaths in the latest week. A week earlier, it had reported 134 cases and one death. Throughout the pandemic it has reported 6,291 cases and 80 deaths.
