Facilities damaged at Mount Rainier National Park after break-in near White River
Dec. 3—Multiple facilities were damaged at Mount Rainier National Park sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday morning after individuals broke in through a closed gate, the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch said.
The national park is requesting help from the public to locate those responsible for burglary and theft of government property within the White River area of the park.
Sometime between 3 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. Monday, individuals broke through a gate on Washington state Route 410 at the intersection of Crystal Mountain Boulevard, according to a news release from the park.
The suspects continued to the White River area of the park, where park officials say government property was destroyed and stolen. Multiple facilities were damaged. Park officials did not specify what was damaged or stolen.
