Pierce County animal control rescues 19 dogs living in freezing conditions
TACOMA, Wash. - More than a dozen neglected dogs were brought into the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County this week.
The Humane Society says on Monday, Pierce County Animal Control brought six dogs from a property in Graham. The dogs had been left outside in freezing conditions and two were dead. Another was in such poor condition that it had to be euthanized. The other five were severely underweight, dehydrated, covered in mats, and infested with fleas.
On Tuesday, animal control bought 14 dogs from a property in Tacoma. The dogs were also left outside in freezing conditions.
The Humane Society currently has 40 adoptable dogs. To help create space for more dogs, the shelter is offering $50 off adoption fees from Dec. 30 - Jan. 16.
