Recent winter weather has left plenty of potholes for Seattle area drivers to contend with

Many drivers on Seattle area roads have noticed -- and are complaining about -- the plethora of potholes that have resulted from the recent round of winter weather that brought snow and ice to the region.

The Seattle Department of Transportation confirms that it has been responding to a spike in pothole reports, with crews unlikely to be able to repair all of them.

According to the city agency, 600 new reports of potholes were filed after the recent snow storm, a big jump from its average of 150-a-week last winter.

Many drivers know the potholes can be costly problems to deal with.
