Here's what new director had to say about future of Tacoma's venues, including the Dome

Feb. 2—Tacoma has a new leader to manage its venues and events.

Adam Cook was appointed as director of Tacoma Venues & Events in January and assumed the position Monday. The city set out to find a new director after Kim Bedier announced her resignation in September to accept another position in Southern California.

As director of Tacoma Venues & Events, Cook is responsible for leading the operations and management of the city's events facilities, which includes the Tacoma Dome, the Greater Tacoma Convention Center, Cheney Stadium, the Pantages Theater, Rialto Theater and Theater on the Square.

Cook is also responsible for improving community access to diverse citywide programs and "generating positive economic impact, managing maintenance and investment into infrastructure to ensure continued viability, and nurturing arts and business sector partnerships," according to a press release from the city of Tacoma.
