Seattle Police set up mobile precinct in Little Saigon neighborhood

SEATTLE - On Friday, the Seattle Police Department set up a mobile precinct at 12th Ave and S Jackson St in the city's Little Saigon neighborhood in an attempt to deter crime in the area.

A bus stop at the intersection was also closed and police were seen actively telling people who tried to stop in the area to move along.

The corner is a notorious hotspot for crime, drugs, and stolen merchandise. Several shootings have also been reported at the intersection, including one last week where a man was shot several times.

Business owners in the area say this is the largest police presence they have seen from SPD however they worry that the people who frequent the intersection will just move to a different part of the Chinatown-International District.
