Thursday forecast: Flurries to start the day

Western Washington has had temperatures 15 to 20 degrees colder than normal starting Tuesday night and now record cold low temperatures have been hit early Wednesday morning. If you love to see snow around the lowlands there is a recipe being made starting late tonight.

The latest forecast is happening before our eyes with increasing clouds moving south from the Canadian border.

Temperatures are heading back into the 20s overnight at the same time enough moisture (water vapor) slides in on cue. Moisture is very limited with the inside slider that takes most of its energy east of the Cascades, but no matter, there will still be a period of time early Thursday morning that the snow will skiff past us around Puget Sound.

Accumulations are not expected unless you are around the Strait of Juan de Fuca or in the higher hills closer to the Cascades for Snohomish county northward.
