Growing homeless camp in Capitol Hill spurs concern, anxiety at nearby apartment complex

Residents in Capitol Hill say they feel helpless as a new homeless encampment pops up right outside their apartment windows.

The building manager told KOMO News Monday that more tents have been popping up for weeks, with constant noise all night, open drug use and vandalism, and residents don’t feel safe enough to even open their windows.

Residents say they’ve been dealing with this for about two weeks. They’ve had issues with strangers trespassing and trying to get into their apartments.

So far, about seven tents stretch along the sidewalk mere feet from residents’ windows outside the Bonneville Apartments at 600 E. Denny Way in Capitol Hill.
