Here's how much the cost of living has risen in Seattle

Inflation continues to be the biggest concern for small businesses around the nation and the Puget Sound region.

The latest Cost of Living Index data from the Council for Community and Economic Research shows the average cost of living in the Seattle metro area has increased 6.49% between the first quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2022.

That's still less than the total cost of living increase of 9.76% nationally over the same three-year span.

The dramatic increases in the price of housing, fuel and other necessities has outpaced earnings growth for many employees, and it's causing a variety of challenges for individuals and businesses alike.
