Crew was collecting 'baseline' data when airplane crashed
SNOHOMISH — Two pilots, a flight test director and an instrumentation engineer were on board the Cessna Grand Caravan 208B EX airplane that crashed near Snohomish on Friday, according to the company it was under lease to.
Raisbeck Engineering, a Tukwila-based company, issued a news release Sunday morning about the plane and its crew. They were collecting “baseline aircraft performance data” before a planned installation of a modification by the company, which is its specialty. The company planned to measure that and compare it to data after modifications. which had not occurred at the time of the crash, according to Raisbeck Engineering.
“All the members of the Raisbeck family are devastated by this tragic accident,” the release read. “And while Raisbeck feels this loss deeply, we cannot begin to imagine the loss and pain of the families and other loved ones of these crew members.”
The National Transportation Safety Board was investigating the crash.
