Wind gusts up to 55 mph possible for parts of western Washington Wednesday

Strong winds with gusts up to 55 mph are possible for parts of western Washington on Wednesday.

The strongest winds are expected to be along the Cascade gaps, the Pacific Coast, and the western Strait of Juan de Fuca.

KOMO News Meteorologist Kristin Clark said areas of east King County are expected to see easterly winds increasing Wednesday afternoon as air squeezes through the mountain valleys.

Areas from Sammamish, Issaquah, south to Bonney Lake, and east to Enumclaw and North Bend could experience gusts over 50 mph, according to Clark.
