Plurality of Seattle voters favor Katie Wilson in the city's 2025 mayoral race, while 55% oppose Bruce Harrell's reelect

reelection

Barring an late shift in electoral dynamics, it appears that Seattle is on the verge of electing a new mayor, with NPI’s latest Civic Heartbeat survey of the Emerald City finding that a plurality of the electorate favors challenger Katie Wilson’s candidacy, while a majority say they are opposed to reelecting Bruce Harrell to a second term.

In the aggregate, a representative sample of 45% of 615 likely November 2025 voters interviewed this week for the Northwest Progressive Institute by Change Research said they had or would be voting for progressive organizer Katie Wilson to be Seattle’s chief executive, while 40% said they had or would be voting for incumbent Mayor Bruce Harrell. 11% said they were not sure and 4% said they would not vote.

Asked if they support or oppose the mayor’s reelection, a firm majority of 55% said they are opposed, while 45% said they are supportive of a second term for Harrell.

Meanwhile, a majority of 52% disapproves of Harrell’s job performance, while a similar percentage, 49%, views his candidacy for a second term unfavorably.

I'm going to vote for Katie Wilson but I worry that she is inexperienced. I might just be being swayed by bots or right wingers so talk me down, if you can.
