South County Fire moves forward on potential capital facilities bond

EVERETT — South County Fire voters may see a bond measure on next year’s general election ballot.

The South County Fire Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to move forward on a potential capital facilities bond.

The bond would fund the construction of four new fire stations, full replacements of six stations, and renovations and seismic upgrades at four stations.

Commissioners have not decided on a final amount for the bond, but staff estimate it will be between $400 million and $450 million, South County Fire spokesperson Christie Veley wrote in a press release Thursday.
