Semitruck delivers 40,000 pounds of food to the Salvation Army in Everett

EVERETT — The 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence indirectly benefited The Salvation Army Distribution Center last week in Everett.

America250 and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints delivered a semitruck with 40,000 pounds of food and supplies to The Salvation Army in Everett, where it was unloaded Jan. 15 for delivery to families in need across Snohomish County.

The truck is one of 250 semitrucks deployed to food banks across the country in recognition of the 250th year of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, according to a press release.

The 250 deliveries will provide approximately 10 million meals to families in need across the United States as part of the America Gives Initiative, the release said.
