Seattle suburb told to boil water for E. coli
The Associated Press
September 27, 2014 Updated 12 hours ago

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — Residents of the wealthy Seattle suburb of Mercer Island are being told to boil their tap water before drinking because tests have found E. coli in the city's water.

City officials say there had been no reports of illness as of Saturday afternoon.

The city's water provider, Seattle Public Utilities, routinely tests more than 800 water samples for bacteria around the region each month, including 18 samples from Mercer Island.

Samples collected on Mercer Island on Friday showed the presence of E. coli.

Of course nobody will be fired for incompetence for inconveniencing these homeowners. I don't care if the are wealthy. It is going to completely change their quality of living. Instead of talking to their kids about their school day, they wlll have to be spending their time boiling water for a simple thing such as dinner. And who has to get up earlier in the morning for making coffee and oatmeal. I hope the city makes fixing this, a high priority.

Chances are, it's the maid or the nanny who will have to get up early to boil water. Or, they'll just use bottled water until the tests come back clean. It's not going to affect bathing, toilet use, clothes washing, or any outdoor uses of water. And chances are, it is caused by a main break, allowing contaminated ground water to seep into the domestic water supply, not some incompetence of some Seattle utility worker.

Did you forget the sarcasm thingy?

But in away it was just sticking up for all human beings. I think that we have gone to not caring about others regardless of bank account. We really have this us vs them mentality on so many issues/. Yes I blame the Republicans for that attitude.
