(51,907 posts)We're now recruiting volunteers for our annual auction fundraiser! The date is set for the evening of October 17th at the Marriott Waterfront Hotel. This is a very early notice, but we can use all the help we can get. If you might be able to join our invaluable crew of event volunteers that night, you can sign up here: http://goo.gl/forms/JfAKTF5S44
You're also invited to join us for this month's Volunteer Work Party: a week from tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, from 1-4pm, in our office located at 314 First Avenue South. We hope you can join us to connect with fellow bicycling advocates and provide an invaluable help to our mission to support a bicycle-friendly state. We'll be preparing a couple of mailings, catching up -- and, of course, helping ourselves to an assortment of snacks.
Thanks for everything you do!

(51,907 posts)21 Progress is calling all aspiring community leaders age 15-25 to join us as Young Worker Advocates! YWAs will learn about workers' rights and labor laws, connect with their communities and raise awareness about fair labor standards.
This is a fantastic volunteer opportunity for Seattle area high school and college students passionate about social justice to gain hands-on community advocacy experience. With 21 Progress' support, YWAs will learn how to facilitate community conversations about workers' rights and empower fellow community members to demand fair treatment.
No previous leadership or advocacy experience is required. Training and presentations will take about 7-10 hours in total between December 2015 and February 2016. After completing this program, volunteers will become certified labor advocates.

(51,907 posts)Every year interns play a central role in organizing CAGJs signature event, our Strengthen Local Economies Everywhere/SLEE! Dinner. This is an important awareness-raising event for CAGJ when we bring together over 300 farmers, food workers and activists for a dinner featuring the Pacific Northwests amazing bounty of food and Fair Trade ingredients. We invite leaders from the food justice movement as keynote speakers to inspire us to take action. The funds we raise are central to our organizing efforts, and the fun we have organizing it develops new CAGJ leaders every year. We are now seeking a few motivated interns to join our team this Spring. To apply, please contact our SLEE Organizer, Erika Lundahl. SLEE@cagj.org <SLEE@cagj.org>
