Break Free 2016

http://breakfreepnw.org/

This May, We’re Breaking Free!

Last year, the Pacific Northwest said SHELL NO! to one of the biggest fossil fuel companies on the planet.

This May, we’re breaking free from an industry that’s driving the climate crisis and threatening lives, livelihoods and food supplies worldwide.

We’re breaking free from an industry that threatens our communities with leaking pipelines and exploding oil trains, and puts our communities at risk.

World leaders say we have to stay below 1.5°C of warming to avoid radical climate destabilization. No current policies keep us anywhere near this goal, and the fossil fuel industry is turning the Northwest into a dirty energy superhighway.

But it’s not too late. We can lead a just transition to 100% renewable energy safeguarding workers and our climate. We cannot delay. Join us May 13, 14, 15 as we put our bodies on the line to stop the fossil fuel economy and change history.

Thousands of people are converging upon March Point in Anacortes, WA in mid-May 2016. This is a site with two refineries where hundreds of people will risk arrest by engaging in peaceful civil disobedience. We are asking YOU to join this historic convergence and begin the global break from fossil fuels.

To change everything, it will take everyone.
